This is a photo of Roy Swan and Destie Glover Swan circa 1940. Roy and Destie are on the right. It is believed that Destie’s sister Jessie Glover and her mother Mrs. Maria Webster Glover are in the photo. The others may be neighbors. Roy and Destie were married on 22 January of 1905 and lived in Canadice. They had two daughters, Lunette and Geraldine. The location of the photo is unknown.

Roy was the Supervisor of Canadice for many years. Both Roy and Destie were School Trustees for the Number 2 School on Canadice Lake road. The school was sold in 1947 and it was Destie Swan who signed the deed release.

Roy G. Swan I is buried in Evergreen Cemetery on Canadice Lake Road. He was 81 years old.

The Obituary of Destie L. Glover Swan

Canadice - The many friends of Mrs. Roy Swan were grieved to learn of her death at the Wayland Hospital Saturday afternoon, March 1. Mrs. Desta Swan was the daughter of Edgar and Maria Glover and was born 27 August 1883, in Canadice. She had been in failing health for several years and unable to get out since last Christmas.

On January 22, 1905, she was united in marriage to Roy Swan of Canadice where their married life was spent. She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Lunette Rauber of Wayland and Mrs. Geraldine Cornish of Hemlock, and seven grandchildren. The funeral was held at her late home Wednesday at 2 p.m. Burial at the convenience of the family in Evergreen Cemetery. The Rev. William Cooper officiated. The family have the sympathy of their many friends.
