Deer Visits Increase

From the Cohocton Index, 2 March 1939

Canadice - During the absence of vacationists at Canadice lake deer are being observed making use of pathways and roads made by man.

Henry Skinner, who resided about one and a half miles down the west shore, was much surprised yesterday when three does came tip-toeing down the highway.

Curiosity had taken possession of them, to their delicate ear tips, for they approached the windows of a neighboring cottage and wonderingly peered through the bottom pane of a pantry sash.

All around the cottage the trio tripped, and made a dainty examination of the interiors through every available glass.

The last Mr. Skinner saw of them was when they rounded a bend in the road on an inspection tour of the whole row of cottages.
