50th Anniversary of Ralph Paul and Hazel Collins By Mae Mc Carthy - The Livonia Gazette 19 January 1967 Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Paul of East Bloomfield will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house for family and friends from 2 t0 5 o’clock on Sunday, January 29th, at their home at 24 Main St. Miss Hazel Collins, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Collins of Livonia, became the bride of Ralph Paul, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Paul, also of Livonia, on January 31st 1917. The wedding took place at the parsonage of the Methodist Church at Hemlock with the Rev. Grover C. Bucher officiating. After residing in the Livonia and West Bloomfield area, they purchased their present home here in 1943. Mr. Paul, a carpenter by trade, was employed by Cartwright and Morrison for more than 25 years. Mrs. Paul is a member of the Bloomfield Rebekah Lodge and of the First Congregational Church. The couple have five children who are planning the anniversary celebration. They are Mrs. Kenneth (Lucille) Sanderson of Rochester; Mrs. Robert (Marian) White and Mrs. Leonard (Jeanette) Wesley, both of Holcomb. Mrs. Lewis (Thelma) Buckman of Honeoye Falls and John W. Paul of Cincinnati, Ohio; 18 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Mr. Paul has a sister, Mrs. Irwin Wiedrick of Chicago, Ill. and a brother, Harold Paul of Richmond. Mrs. Paul has two sisters, Mrs. Donald Rogers of Buffalo and Mrs. Howard Beach of Livonia Center, and a brother, Earl Collins of Hemlock. |

The Obituary of Ralph W. Paul 30 December 1895 - 19 February 1977 From the Livonia Gazette, 24 February 1977. East Bloomfield - Ralph W. Paul, age 81, of East Bloomfield passed away in Thompson Memorial Hospital, Canandaigua following an extended illness. His parents were William and Adeliine Ewer Paul. Mr. Paul was a member of Local No. 85, Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners Union. He lived in the Livonia area on the Arnold Davis farm and also resided on Federal Rd., before moving to East Bloomfield. He is survived by his wife, Hazel Collins Paul of East Bloomfield; four daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Lucille) Sanderson of Lakeville, Mrs. Robert (Marian) White of Holcomb, Mrs. Leonard (Jeannette) Wesley of Bristol, Mrs. Lewis (Thelma) Buckman, Honeoye Falls; one son, Dr. John W.Paul of Ft. Dodge, Iowa; 18 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 22, at the John W. Carney Funeral Home in East Bloomfield. The Rev. Frank Pennington of the Congregational Church, with assistance of Fred Wintermute officiated. Interment will be in the East Bloomfield Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
