Springwater - Donald “Don” H. Gray Jr., 66, passed away peacefully Sunday, March 16, 2008, in the arms of his loving wife at Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester.

Don was born March 6, 1942, in Rochester, a son of Donald H. and Barbara A. (Burd) Gray Sr. He was the loving husband of Margaret Elizabeth (Kammerer) Gray, who survives. He was employed by the Brighton Fire District as a professional firefighter, retiring in 1998 after 35 years of dedicated service.

Don owned and operated Gray Farms in Springwater for 41 years. He was a member of the Brighton Fire Department, Brighton Professional Firefighters Association, the New York Beef Industry Council, the New York Beef Producer Association, and the National Cattleman’s Beef Association.

Besides his wife of 43 years, Peggy, Don is survived by his daughters Margaret “Margie” (Patrick) Wagner, Sarah Gray and Jennifer Gray; three grandchildren: Morgan, Stephen and Lauren Wagner; his brother Doug (Valerie) Gray; special cousin Ken (Gerry) Burd; and a niece and many cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 101 S. Lackawanna St., Wayland. Burial will be in Evergreen (Covered Bridge) Cemetery, Springwater.
