The Obituary of John Ford

Springwater - John Ford, a life long resident of this town, who has been lying at the point of death from a shock for the past four months at the home of his son-in-law, Marchus Ingraham, on North Main street, passed away at 11 o’clock a.m. on Saturday last January 20th, age 68 years.

Mr. Ford was one of the family of six children of the late Christopher and Laura Ford, three of whom are still residents of this town: Mrs. Eunice West, Mrs. Phebe Crooks and Mrs. Salvina Vincent; Mrs. Lousina Crooks and brother, Avery, having passed on before him several years since.

Deceased married Miss Louisa Lyon of Woodhull, Steuben Co., N.Y., who died about two years ago. There were two children born to them, Mrs. Nettie Ingraham of this place and Mr. Melvin Ford of Elmira, who is now suffering from a broken leg and cannot attend the funeral.

The funeral services will be held tomorrow (Tuesday at 2 o’clock p.m. at the Christian church, Rev. James Thompson officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen cemetery.
