The Obituary of Merle R. Crooks

9 May 1892 - 15 August 1978

From the Genesee Country Express, 24 August 1978

M. Reed Crooks, 85, of Springwater who died Tuesday (Aug. 15, 1978) in the Bath Veterans Hospital after a brief illness, was buried Friday in Evergreen Cemetery, Springwater.

A native and lifelong resident of the Springwater area, he had been a farmer all his life. He was a World War I veteran and served with the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Kern-Robinson American Legion Post of Springwater.

Surviving are a niece, Mrs. Gladys Randall of Springwater; two nephews, Willard Tucker of Livonia and Walter Tucker of Scottsburg; and several great- nieces and nephews and cousins.

A funeral service was conducted in the Walter E. Baird and Sons Funeral Home in Wayland. Memorial contributions may be made to the Springwater Ambulance Fund.
