Liberty Pole - Mr. & Mrs. Erwin Perkins held open house Sunday, June 1st in celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary. Thirty members of their own family were present, and many friends visited during the day. Their relatives presented them with a money tree decorated with $1,$2, $5 and $10 bills totaling $50.
Mrs. Perkins was pleased to see Mrs. Bertha Baker Prettijohn of Livonia among her guests. Mrs. Prettijohn was Mrs. Perkin’s teacher in the Liberty Pole schoolhouse well over 50 years ago.
Mr. & Mrs. Perkins were married May 22nd, 1902 at the Methodist Parsonage in Scottburg by the Rev. Robert S. Bell. They were both born in Springwater and have lived here all their life.
They have one daughter, Mrs. Harmon Spencer of Wayland; 4 sons, Carl of Conesus, Paul of Rochester, Burton and Charles of Springwater. Another son, Julian, died at the age of 4 months. They have 15 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Perkins of Liberty Pole celebrated open house Sunday, May 25th, the occasion being their 50th wedding anniversary.
Both natives of Springwater, Mr. Perkins is a brother of James Perkins of Geneseo, and Mrs. Perkins, the former Winifred Joy, is a sister of the late Dr. Charles Joy of Craig Colony, Sonyea. They were married in the Scottsburg Methodist parsonage, and before moving to Liberty Pole over 40 years ago, they lived in Conesus, Springwater and Sparta.
Mr. and Mrs. Perkins have five children: Mrs. Harmon Spencer of Wayland, Carl of Conesus, Paul of Rochester, Burton and Charles.

Springwater - Erwin D. Perkins, 76, died September 23, 1955 at Wayland Hospital.
He was assessor for the town of Springwater for the past 20 years, and prior to that tax collector. He was also a past noble grand of the Livingston Lodge IOOF of Springwater and had been honored as a 40 year member of that lodge. Mr. & Mrs. Perkins observed their 50th wedding anniversary last year.
He leaves his wife, Winifred; a daughter, Mrs. Harmon Spencer of Wayland; four sons, Charles and Burton of Springwater, Carl of Conesus and Paul of Rochester; a sister, Mrs. Fred Buskirk of Springwater; three brothers, James of Geneseo, Harry of Mt. Morris and Clair of Springwater.
Funeral services were held September 26 with burial in Liberty Pole Cemetery. The Rev. Everett Fitts, pastor of Springwater Methodist Church, officiated.

Daughter of Exielona Dieter Joy, Winifred Joy Perkins died at the home of her daughter, Audra Spencer in Wayland, NY. She married May 22, 1902 in the Scottsburg Methodist parsonage to Erwin D. Perkins.
