Tribute to George W. Sharpsteen

From the Livonia Gazette, 27 January 1893

The following resolutions were recently adopted by Eagle Lodge F. and A.M.:

Whereas, the Allwise Architect of the Universe having called home our worthy brother, George W. Sharpsteen, we, the members of Eagle Lodge, offer the following tribute to his memory: Brother Sharpsteen was always found attentive to all his duties and obligations as a member of our lodge, and foremost in every good work and deed.

We realize that our loss, which we do greatly deplore, is his gain, as he was transferred to the home above without suffering the pains of prolonged illness.

Resolved (1) That we tender his grief-stricken family our sincere condolence and esteem; (2) That these brief words, expressive of our regard, do appear on a memorial page in our records, and a copy transmitted to the family of our deceased brother.
