The Obituary of Mary Jane Hyde Doolittle 1 May 1827 - 26 August 1891 From the Livonia Gazette, 4 September 1891 Canadice - Mrs. Jane Doolittle, wife of Henry Doolittle, died on the 26th ult. at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Gilbert Struble, where she went for a short stay. The diseased was afflicted with a tumor in the side, and her life was slowly sapped away. Mrs. Doolittle was one of the most noble of women - kind and unselfish, and ever ready to give a helping hand to those in need. The Rev. Mr. Day of Honeoye preached the funeral discourse on Friday. A husband, two sons and two daughters, with three brothers, one of whom is Mr. C. B. Hyde of this town, mourn the loss of a devoted wife, mother and sister. The afflicted family has the sympathy of all in their hour of bereavement.
