The Fourth at the Hemlock Fair

By Unknown Author - The Livonia Gazette

13 June 1890

Fourth of July will be celebrated at Hemlock Lake this year. Among the attractions will be a balloon ascension and tight-rope performance by Allen Brothers of Dansville, who will make their celebrated parachute drop.

Tight rope performances will be given both in the forenoon and afternoon. The balloon ascension will take place from the fair grounds, where the races and all other sports will be held. There will be a free-for-all race for pacers and trotters, a 2:50 race for pacers and trotters, a race for green horses, and running races. In addition to these sports there will be dances in the large hall on the grounds. Music will be furnished by the Honeoye Cornet Band, and every thing will be done to entertain the large crowd that will be on hand. H. P. Hoppough will be president of the day. Further particulars will be given next week.
